Sweet Espresso Cafe – Mentone

Sweet Espresso Cafe is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and confident in running a busy kitchen. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day kitchen operations and help maintain our high standards of food quality and service.

About the role:

- Manage and lead the kitchen team
- Prepare and present high-quality breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes
- Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen operations during busy service periods
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Assist with menu preparation and daily specials
- Manage stock levels and minimise food wastage
- Train and support kitchen staff
- Work efficiently under pressure in a busy cafe environment

What we are looking for:

- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef




- Strong breakfast/brunch and cafe experience preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to handle a busy kitchen and work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and food quality
- Positive attitude and skilled work ethic
