About the role

T J Depiazzi & Sons is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Dardanup, WA 6236. This is a full time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles remain in optimal working condition, maximising fleet reliability and minimising downtime.

This position is essential to our operations within the road transport and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty diesel engines and associated mechanical systems
- Perform routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks and commercial vehicles
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and identify solutions to restore vehicles to full working order
- Replace and repair components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and fuel systems
- Conduct pre-operation and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all maintenance work completed
- Operate diagnostic equipment and testing tools to identify mechanical issues
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
- Communicate effectively with management and transport staff regarding vehicle status and maintenance requirements

What we're looking for

- Formal qualification or apprenticeship in diesel mechanics or heavy vehicle maintenance
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic within the earthmoving or road transport industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, drivetrains and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop technology
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles as required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team




- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work in various weather conditions
- Experience with heavy vehicle roadworthiness standards is highly desirable

What we offer T J Depiazzi & Sons is offering this position as an EOI. It is the first time the position has been offered as a full time basis, this roll has been serviced on a contract basis in the past and we are open to discussing how this position would look going forward.
