We are a boutique Brisbane practice delivering practical, accessible legal services to individuals and businesses. We work with a broad base of private clients who come to us for family, criminal and property work.

The Opportunities — which one suits you best?

We are appointing lawyers across four practice areas. Tell us in your application which area (or areas) you are applying for.

- Commercial — Business sales and purchases, contract drafting and review, start-up structuring, shareholder and partnership arrangements, commercial leasing, and advising health and fitness industry operators on the agreements that run their businesses.
- Family Law — Property settlements, consent orders, binding financial agreements, de facto matters, parenting arrangements and mediation, with court work through the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
- Criminal — Magistrates Court appearances including duty lawyer work, bail applications, traffic and drink driving matters, summary offences and committals, with the opportunity to build your own advocacy practice.
- Property — Residential and commercial conveyancing from contract to settlement, off-the-plan and development transactions, commercial and retail leasing, and related disputes.

Across all four, this is a role with real client contact. You will speak to clients, take instructions and run files from opening to completion rather than being handed a discrete task and nothing else.

The Role

This is a full-time position based in Brisbane, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.

You will manage your own caseload, advise clients, draft and review documents, and represent clients in negotiations and — where appropriate — court or tribunal proceedings. Day to day, that means legal research, preparing briefs and correspondence,



meeting clients to understand what they actually need, and building strategies that get them there. You will also work closely with colleagues, maintain accurate file and matter management, and practise in accordance with your professional obligations and firm policy.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

- Admission as a lawyer in Australia, with a current practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one in Queensland;
- Demonstrated experience in at least one of commercial, family, criminal or property law, including running matters, drafting advice and preparing documents;
- Strong advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills, and the confidence to represent clients professionally across a range of forums;
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language to clients under pressure;
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and hold detail in a busy practice;
- Sound professional judgement and a genuine commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality;
- Comfort working in a hybrid workplace, including confident use of practice and document management software and digital collaboration tools.
