About the Role - Hospital Programs Support Officer

As a Hospital Programs Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery and expansion of Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland's Hospital Programs across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Working closely with the Hospital Programs Coordinator, you will help ensure our Family Rooms, Hospitality Carts and family-centred hospital spaces provide a welcoming, supportive and well-organised environment for families with seriously ill or injured children.

This role requires a hands-on, adaptable and people-focused individual who enjoys working across different locations, building positive relationships with volunteers and hospital stakeholders, and making a genuine difference in the lives of families during challenging times. A current open driver's licence is essential,



as regular travel between hospital locations in Brisbane and the Gold Coast forms part of the role. Successful applicants will be required to meet Queensland Health mandatory training and vaccination requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the day-to-day operations of Family Rooms, Hospitality Carts and family-centred spaces across multiple hospital locations.
- Provide operational roster coverage as required to ensure continuity of service delivery.
- Support, guide and engage volunteers while on shift, helping to create a positive, inclusive and rewarding volunteer experience.
- Act as a key point of contact for volunteers, providing real-time support, direction and problem-solving assistance.
- Monitor stock levels, supplies and resources, coordinating replenishment and maintenance activities as required.
- Assist with the delivery of family activities, seasonal events and program initiatives that enhance the hospital experience for families.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with hospital staff, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Monitor program environments and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide accurate administrative support, maintain records and contribute to reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, workplace health and safety requirements and Queensland Health standards.

Key Selection Criteria:

- Demonstrated experience in a customer service, healthcare, community services, hospitality or volunteer-focused environment, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage and build rapport with volunteers, families, hospital staff and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and workplace systems, with the ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
- Current Open Driver Licence and willingness to regularly travel between hospital program locations across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.




- Robust organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and work effectively across multiple locations.
