? Who are we?
A large, values-led Melbourne organisation is looking for a HR Advisor to join its People team for an initial six-month temporary assignment.
With the broader function going through a period of change and transformation, they need someone who can step in and keep the important day-to-day people processes moving, while also bringing a bit of curiosity around HR systems, technology and smarter ways of working.
This isn't your traditional "we've always done it this way" HR environment. The team is exploring new technology and processes, so they're looking for someone who's open-minded, adaptable and excited by what modern HR could look like.
? Who are you?
You're an HR Advisor or experienced HR Coordinator who loves the operational side of HR but also finds yourself asking, "Could we do this better?"
You're organised, relationship-focused and confident managing the detail, from contracts and HRIS data through to onboarding and employee queries.
You'll also have a genuine interest in systems and technology. Employment Hero experience is particularly important, as you'll use it across documentation, reporting and recruitment workflows.
? Day to day
No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare contracts, letters and employment documentation
- Maintain accurate employee data and workflows in Employment Hero
- Support first-line recruitment administration
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions and pre-employment requirements
- Manage and triage day-to-day HR administrative queries
- Liaise with payroll across employee changes
- Coordinate training and development activity
- Support compliance checks and employee records
- Assist with offboarding and exit processes
- Create reports and templates through Employment Hero
- Explore new systems, AI tools and smarter ways of delivering HR processes The formal position scope spans employment documentation, Employment Hero data, compliance, onboarding, HR queries, L&D; and offboarding.
? What's in your toolkit?
Must-haves:
- HR Advisor or strong HR Coordinator experience
- Experience using Employment Hero
- Confidence preparing employment contracts and documentation
- Strong HR administration and coordination capability
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A curious, adaptable and forward-thinking mindset
- Comfortable learning and experimenting with current systems and processes
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience creating Employment Hero templates and custom reports
- Trello experience
- Exposure to L&D; coordination
- Experience supporting recruitment workflows
- Interest in AI and emerging HR technology
- Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience
Why This Role?
- Approx. six-month temporary opportunity
- Hybrid working, typically 3 days office / 2 days WFH
- Convenient East Melbourne location near Parliament Station
- Join an experienced and supportive People team
- Broad exposure across HR operations and advisory support
- Opportunity to get involved with evolving HR technology and processes
- Work within a relationship-led environment where HR is visible and connected to its stakeholders The organisation values face-to-face relationships, so while there is flexibility to work from home around two days per week, they're looking for someone who enjoys being part of the office and building relationships in person.
If you're a hands-on HR professional who knows their way around Employment Hero and gets excited about finding smarter ways to work, we'd love to hear from you.
