HR & Payroll Coordinator
We are a locally owned WA group of companies with over 100 employees, on a genuine growth trajectory. We are looking for an HR & Payroll Coordinator to take ownership of our day-to-day HR administration and support the finance team with the weekly payroll cycle. This is a newly created, standalone role. You will be the dedicated point of contact for HR and payroll across our team of tradespeople, apprentices and office staff, with the opportunity to shape how we run these functions as we grow.
About the role
- Working closely with the accounts team, you will:
- Coordinate staff onboarding and offboarding, including our apprentice onboarding process
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of Employment Hero for HR functions
- Prepare and manage employee contracts in line with the correct award or agreement
- Monitor award conditions and pay rate changes, and flag anything relevant to the business
- Liaise with local TAFE regarding our apprentices
- Respond to day-to-day payroll and HR queries from staff
- Contribute ideas for improving our payroll and HR processes, drawing on your experience from previous roles
- Collate weekly timesheets and reimbursement claims into a clear, accurate report for the accounts team, checking for discrepancies before submission
- Maintain leave records and prepare weekly leave balance reporting
Full training on our current processes and systems will be provided.
About you
This role suits someone early in their HR career, with around 1 to 2 years' experience across HR and payroll, including:
- Strong Excel skills, comfortable working with structured reports and templates
- High attention to detail,
particularly when checking timesheet and expense accuracy across a large team
- Working knowledge of Employment Hero
- Comfortable reviewing awards and identifying relevant changes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Full Australian working rights (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible visa holder)
- Willing and able to obtain a police clearance
