Join Maxam Australia as a Human Resources Business Partner

MAXAM Australia is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity leave cover.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys working across the full employee lifecycle and partnering with leaders and employees across a multi-site operational business.

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Back Office, you will play a key role in providing practical and commercially focused HR support across the business, ensuring our people practices remain aligned with Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements and company standards.

Your Role:

As the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for a broad range of HR activities, including:

- Managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to onboarding, development and separation.
- Leading recruitment processes including advertising, interviewing, selection and pre-employment checks.
- Managing employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, investigations and conflict resolution.
- Providing HR and industrial relations support to leaders and the wider MAXAM team.
- Supporting managers with performance reviews, development plans and employee matters.
- Managing employee onboarding, including documentation, HR inductions and equipment requirements.
- Coordinating and supporting the offboarding and exit process.
- Reviewing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements.
- Providing monthly HR and payroll reporting and supporting annual HR budget preparation.




- Supporting payroll activities across Australia and PNG.
- Acting as the primary HR contact for external IT support and associated employee technology requirements.
- Building strong working relationships with Regional, Area and Plant Managers.

Requirements:

- At least 3 years' experience in a HR role, preferably within a multi-site organisation.
- Proven experience managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements.
- An understanding of Modern Awards and industrial instruments.
- Experience managing employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Strong recruitment and onboarding experience.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certificate IV or Diploma in Human Resources is desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field will be highly regarded.
