Start your trade with a crew that actually trains you

We're a Cairns-based refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC business — a team of around 13 looking after resorts, hotels, commercial kitchens, pubs, boats and homes right across Far North Queensland. We're taking on a first year apprentice. No experience needed. You'll be paired with a qualified tradesperson from day one — not handed a broom and forgotten about.

Who we're after

We can teach you the trade. We can't teach you the attitude. This is what we look for:

- You go above and beyond. You care how the job turns out, not just when knock-off is.
- You communicate. You speak up when you're stuck, tell us when something's changed, and don't let a problem sit quietly.
- You own the standard. If your name's on it, you're proud of it. You close the loop instead of passing it on.
- You stay resourceful. Things go sideways on site. You bring options, not just problems.
- You're a team player. You help the bloke next to you, share what you learn, and put the team result ahead of your ego.

What you'll be doing

- Working alongside a qualified tech on installs, service and breakdowns
- Domestic split systems through to commercial refrigeration, ducted and VRF, cool rooms, and marine cooling
- Learning to diagnose faults, braze, evacuate, charge and commission systems properly
- Keeping the van, tools and site tidy and safe
- Talking to customers respectfully — they're the reason we're there
- Attending trade school blocks and keeping your training records up to date

What you need

- Genuine interest in the trade and a willingness to turn up and learn
- Current driver's licence (or working towards it)
- Reasonable physical fitness — roofs, ladders, plant rooms, Cairns heat




- Right to work in Australia
- Reliable, on time, phone answered

Nice to have (not essential): White Card, Blue Card, any prior hands-on or trade experience.

Already started your apprenticeship somewhere else?

Still send it through. If you're part-way through your Cert III and looking for a better crew to finish it with, we'll take over your training contract and you won't lose the time you've already put in. Just tell us what year you're up to.

- Structured on-the-job training with senior techs and a defined path from apprentice through to qualified technician

- Hours Monday to Thursday 7:00am–3:30pm, Friday 7:00am–1:30pm. Short Friday most weeks
