Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality, engaging IELTS preparation classes through effective face-to-face teaching.

- Prepare students across all four IELTS skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

- Teach IELTS strategies, techniques and time-management skills to help students achieve their target band scores.

- Regularly assess students' English proficiency and IELTS readiness and provide constructive, individualised feedback.

- Monitor and accurately maintain records of daily teaching delivery, student attendance, participation, progress and assessment results.

- Identify students who are not progressing as expected and implement appropriate learning support and improvement strategies.

- Ensure teaching, assessment and student records comply with relevant ELICOS regulatory requirements and standards.

- Use appropriate digital teaching technologies, learning management systems and IELTS preparation resources.

- Cover classes and teacher absences when required.

- Respond promptly and professionally to student academic concerns, questions and learning needs.

- Contribute to a positive, supportive and results-focused learning environment that motivates students to achieve their IELTS goals.

- Work collaboratively with academic management and other teaching staff to maintain consistent teaching quality and student outcomes.

Essential Criteria

- Recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree and an appropriate TESOL qualification.

- Minimum three years' English language teaching experience,



including demonstrated experience teaching IELTS preparation courses.

- Must have personally undertaken the official IELTS test and have first-hand understanding of the IELTS testing process and requirements.

- Previous experience working in a similar IELTS teaching role is essential.

- Strong knowledge of the IELTS Academic and General Training test formats, assessment criteria, band descriptors and examination strategies.

- Demonstrated ability to teach and provide effective feedback across IELTS Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

- Ability to assess students' current language proficiency, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to help students achieve their target IELTS band scores.

- Experience using current digital teaching technologies, online resources, learning management systems and student management systems.

- Excellent communication, classroom management, planning and organisational skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate and build positive relationships with students.

- Flexible, reliable and able to respond effectively to changing student and organisational needs.

- Sound understanding of the ELICOS regulatory framework, National Code and relevant standards.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
