The Strategic Assets Committee is a sub-committee of the Perth Racing Board, responsible for the strategic planning, development and oversight of the Club’s existing and future land and property assets and interests at and in the vicinity of Ascot Racecourse.
Perth Racing currently has a Structure Plan and Scheme Amendment for those property assets lodged with the City of Belmont, details of which are publicly available via the City of Belmont’s website.

Role of the Committee
Strategic Oversight
Develop and oversee long-term strategic asset and portfolio planning, including opportunities for development, repurposing, acquisition, consolidation, subdivision and disposal to enhance long-term value and strategic outcomes.
Investment and Development Review
Evaluate investment and development opportunities and review and challenge business cases prior to formal Board consideration and approval.
Partnership and Commercial Opportunities
Review and provide advice on strategic partnerships, joint ventures and third-party development proposals, with particular regard to value creation, commercial structure and risk allocation.
Committee Composition The Committee comprises a Chair, who is a Director of the Perth Racing Board, two additional Board Directors and is advised by an independent subject matter expert. The Committee is supported by the Perth Racing CEO and CFO.
Who We Are Seeking The Committee is seeking an additional independent member with senior-level commercial experience and demonstrated expertise in one or more of property development, property investment, major transactions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
Experience in complex mixed-use development, property financing, development structuring or major landholdings would be particularly valuable.
The successful candidate will bring independent commercial judgement and constructive challenge to the Committee, contributing specialist expertise to the assessment of significant property, investment and partnership opportunities.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate appropriate independence and will be required to disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest.
Commitment The Committee meets on a quarterly basis, with additional meetings scheduled as required. Members are expected to review relevant papers in advance of meetings and contribute to additional matters between meetings where appropriate.

Interested candidates are invited to submit a brief expression of interest outlining their relevant experience and the contribution they believe they could make to the Committee, together with a current CV.
The appointment term is for an initial period of one year, and a sitting fee is offered.
