About the role

We are seeking an experienced and confident disability services leader to join our team as an Independent Living Coordinator. This role oversees Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across allocated houses in the Palmerston and greater Darwin region, supporting participants with complex disability-related needs, including behaviours of concern and health care requirements.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight across allocated services, with a focus on safe, consistent and person-centred support.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead and support Team Leaders and Disability Support Workers across allocated houses
- Ensure participant supports are delivered in line with individual goals, support plans, Behaviour Support Plans, health care plans and risk management strategies
- Maintain oversight of participant wellbeing, changing support needs, incidents, risks and service quality
- Ensure documentation, reporting and staff practice meet NDIS and organisational requirements
- Promote active support approaches that build independence, choice, dignity and skill development
- Ensure staff have the capability and training required to safely meet participant needs
- Work closely with participants, families, guardians, Support Coordinators, allied health professionals and other stakeholders




- Work with Workforce and Rostering to support appropriate staffing and skill mix across services
- Support continuous improvement, audits and the transition of new participants
- Participate in the on-call roster and provide operational support outside standard business hours as required

What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

- Extensive experience in the disability sector, including direct support experience and oversight of service delivery
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising staff, including providing direction, coaching and managing performance
- Experience supporting participants with complex support needs, including Behaviour Support Plans, health care requirements and multidisciplinary supports
- Strong working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct and safeguarding obligations
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and risk management skills
- Solid organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to maintain oversight across multiple houses and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with participants, families, staff and external stakeholders
- Strong documentation and computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365
- Relevant qualifications in disability, community services or a related field will be highly regarded
- Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check,



NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid and CPR, Australian Driver Licence and relevant vaccinations
