The Role The APS 4 Information and Registry Officer is responsible for managing correspondence, records and information management activities within Space Command ensuring the accurate registration, maintenance and governance of digital records in accordance with legislative, regulatory and Defence requirements.
Working closely with the Staff Officer Personnel and Administrative Commanding Officer, the position supports workforce administration through the management of correspondence across the Command, including the coordination and actioning of PMKeyS requests. The role provides advice on records management and information governance practices, maintains information systems and databases and builds productive stakeholder relationships.
The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of business processes to enhance operational effectiveness across Space Command.

The APS4 Information and Registry Officer will be part of the Space Command Personnel Cell,
which is responsible for the coordination and oversight of personnel management, workforce welfare, and incident management across Space Command. It provides commanders, supervisors, and staff with advice, guidance, processes, and tools to ensure personnel matters are managed effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with policy.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Providing advice and direction to staff undertaking mail, registry, records management, and technical publications.
- Maintain the registration and filing of hardcopy and digital documentation.
- Apply knowledge and experience in records management and the legislative and governance responsibilities associated with record keeping to manage team work.
- Research and interrogate databases to ensure accurate record keeping and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Interpret and provide advice on overarching legislation, regulations and other guidelines relating to records management.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
