The Opportunity
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable Payroll Administrator who enjoys working with data, solving problems and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
n
Working closely with an experienced Pay and Conditions team and an external managed payroll provider, you will provide hands-on payroll administration support across a broad range of activities.
n
Your work will play an important role in ensuring payroll transactions are processed accurately, employee records remain up to date and payroll enquiries are resolved in a timely manner.
n
This role offers the opportunity to work in a complex environment where no two days are quite the same.
n
You will be trusted to manage your work with a high degree of independence while having the support of a knowledgeable team around you.
n
It is also a great opportunity to build further experience across payroll systems, data validation, reconciliations and process improvement.
n
The Role
n
You'll take day-to-day ownership of payroll transactions and employee records, keeping the numbers accurate and everything on track.
n
You will be responsible for:
n
n
- Processing payroll transactions, contract changes, allowances, leave and payroll adjustments
n
- Reviewing and maintaining payroll and employee data to ensure accuracy and completeness
n
- Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers, escalating complex matters where required
n
- Supporting payroll validation and reconciliation activities to ensure payroll accuracy
n
- Monitoring and actioning payroll tickets and service requests within agreed timeframes.
n
- Liaising with the Managed Payroll Service provider on routine payroll matters
n
- Assisting with maintaining payroll procedures, records and supporting documentation
n
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and data quality
n
n
The Ideal Person
n
You're someone who takes genuine pride in getting the detail right, and who's comfortable managing a high volume of payroll transactions with minimal oversight.
n
You bring a naturally curious, analytical mindset, quick to spot a discrepancy and confident working through it to a resolution.
n
You will bring the following skills and experience:
n
n
- Demonstrated payroll processing or payroll administration experience
n
- Experience using Aurion or a similar enterprise payroll/HRIS platform
n
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to review, reconcile and analyse payroll data
n
- Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine commitment to data accuracy
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate issues
n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines
n
- Strong customer service and communication skills
n
- Australian citizenship, as this is a requirement of the role
n
n
It would also be desirable if you have:
n
n
- Direct hands-on experience specifically with Aurion
n
- Experience working within a large or complex organisation
n
- Experience working with outsourced or managed payroll providers
n
- An understanding of Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
n
- Experience undertaking payroll reconciliations and data validation
n
n
Salary / Rate
n
n
- $55/hr - $65/hr + Super
n
- Six-month labour hire contract, with an immediate start available
n
n
