The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Senior Associate level lawyer (5-8 years’ PQE) to join our Melbourne Intellectual Property team working with partners Lisa Egan and Joanna Lawrence and the broader team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to work on a diverse range of intellectual property (IP) matters and act on behalf of local and international businesses across a broad range of industries.

You will provide strategic legal counsel to our clients, helping them safeguard and enforce their IP assets and navigate the complex landscape of IP law. You will work on a range of IP matters including providing brand strategy advice, managing trade mark portfolios, drafting agreements, advising on copyright, design and confidential information protection and enforcement, and general IP advice and dispute matters.

Who We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Between 5-8 years’ PQE in IP law. Relevant in-house experience may also be considered
- Strong expertise and experience in trade mark law and practice, including advising on registrability and availability of trade marks, prosecution and managing large portfolios




- Experience in IP disputes (including oppositions and removal actions), enforcement and litigation matters
- Excellent written communication and drafting skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong client and matter management skills
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving
- The ability to take ownership of matters while working collaboratively within a team
- Experience mentoring and supervising junior staff
