Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Design Consultant role based in Coburg, VIC.

The Interior Design

Consultant will meet with clients to understand their requirements, lifestyle, and design preferences, translating these into practical and visually appealing interior solutions. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts, recommending furniture, finishes, and materials, preparing mood boards or presentations, and guiding clients through product selections in the showroom. The role involves collaborating with sales and project teams, providing accurate advice on furniture layout and functionality, and ensuring a smooth customer experience from initial consultation through to final decisions.

The Interior Design

Consultant will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends,



product ranges, and pricing, and may assist with merchandising and display updates to showcase design options effectively.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to build rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide clear, professional guidance.
- Candidates should possess Interior Design skills, including space planning, color coordination, material selection, and the ability to create cohesive design concepts.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to support product recommendations, explain value and features, and assist clients in making confident purchase decisions.
- Candidates should possess Furniture knowledge, including styles, construction, ergonomics, and suitability for different spaces and uses.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Interior Design, Interior Decoration, or a related field are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in basic design tools or software (e.g., CAD or design visualization tools) and comfort working in a showroom or client-facing workplace are beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously are important.
- Previous experience in interior design, furniture retail, or design consulting is an advantage.
