Matsuyama Yakitori is a Japanese street-style yakitori concept located at Prahran Market. We focus on high-quality intensive service, authentic yakitori experience, and simple but carefully crafted food. We are a small business you need have a overall ability of front of house and cooking skill.

We are currently looking for a Reliable and motivated part time chef assistant to join our team , with the opportunity to develop real kitchen skills and grow within the business.

Your Role

You should assist chef, supporting daily kitchen operations, material preparation, manage the cooking station and keep our place clean and tidy.

Your responsibilities includes

- Fry section
- Sauce section
- Handling skewer prep
- Managing timing + assemble bento and sando
- customer service, confidently communicate with customers
- MUST be familiar with Japanese food
- Prepping ingredients before service (cutting, marinating, portioning, skewers)
- Cooking during service
- Maintaining speed + consistency during rush
- Cooperate with our chef

Quality control
- Ensures food meets standard every time
- Controls portion size
- Checks seasoning, doneness, presentation

Stock & prep management
- Tracks ingredients in their section
- Prepares enough for service (not too much,



not too little)
- Minimises waste

Hygiene & safety
- Keeps place clean
- Follows food safety rules
- Organises workspace efficiently

Location Prahran Market / South Yarra, Melbourne

Tues: 11am-5pm

Thursday & Friday depends on roster

Saturday:11am-5pm

Sunday: 11am-5pm
