Murarrie

The Role

Operating from our Murarrie office, this role manages a portfolio of residential insurance repair and restoration projects across Brisbane. You will coordinate subcontractors, oversee project timelines, budgets and documentation, and maintain clear communication with homeowners, loss adjusters and insurers from initial assessment through to completion.

Reporting to the General Manager and Operations Manager, this varied role combines project coordination with regular time in the field, including travel across the region to inspect works and monitor progress firsthand. It would suit someone who brings strong coordination and organisational skills, together with practical building, construction or trade knowledge, and is ready to develop their career in project supervision. You may be nearing completion of an apprenticeship, recently trade-qualified or bringing early-career experience in building, construction or project coordination.

Previous insurance building or restoration experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

With support from experienced leaders, structured training and established systems, you will build specialist insurance repair and project supervision knowledge while managing your own portfolio. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys building strong relationships, takes pride in delivering quality work and wants to establish a long-term career with Johns Lyng Group.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors across a portfolio of concurrent insurance repair and restoration projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress and workmanship, collect and file contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), support Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance and promptly escalate safety concerns.

- Monitor project timelines and agreed repair timeframes across all active jobs, managing sequencing and escalating issues early to keep projects on track.
- Maintain proactive communication with homeowners, loss adjusters, and insurers throughout each project, building solid relationships, responding to issues promptly and escalating complex matters when required.
- Review approved scopes, issue purchase orders and monitor project costs and margins, ensuring trades do not commence on site until the required approval is in place.
- Attend weekly construction meetings and Work in Progress (WIP) reviews, ensuring all job files, photographs and documentation are kept up to date.

The Company Positioned as one of Australia’s leading insurance builders, Johns Lyng Group delivers high-quality insurance building and restoration services nationwide. Our reputation is built on quality, reliability and exceptional customer outcomes, supported by a high-performance culture. As part of the broader Johns Lyng Group, this role sits within Express Builders, our high-volume division specialising in small residential insurance repair projects, where strong relationships, local knowledge and responsive service are central to supporting customers and communities when they need us most.
