About The Role

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Health Clinician to join a highly specialised child protection service where your expertise can make a profound difference in the lives of children, young people and families.

As part of the JCPRP Health Team, you’ll draw on your clinical expertise to deliver trauma-informed assessment, crisis intervention and therapeutic support to children and young people, as well as their non-offending family members. Working collaboratively with NSW Police and the Department of Communities and Justice, you’ll play a vital role in coordinated, multidisciplinary responses that prioritise the safety, health and wellbeing of children and young people impacted by sexual harm, serious physical abuse or extreme neglect.

Your work will span clinical assessment, care coordination, advocacy, multi-agency planning and collaboration with a diverse network of health and community services. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement, education and child protection training across the district.

Reporting to the PARVAN Perinatal and Paediatric Programs Manager and supported by the Senior Health Clinician, you’ll become part of a team that values clinical excellence, collaboration and continuous learning.

Where You’ll Be Working

Join a dedicated multidisciplinary team making a genuine difference in the lives of children, young people and families across the New England region. As part of the Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP), you'll work within a unique tri‑agency partnership alongside NSW Health, NSW Police and the Department of Communities and Justice to provide timely, trauma-informed responses for children and young people at risk of serious harm. Based within the New England Local Health District, this role supports communities across Tamworth, Armidale, Inverell and Moree, delivering specialist health responses that promote safety, recovery and wellbeing for some of our most vulnerable community members.

Essential Requirements

- Must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of social workers; or a four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer which provides full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; or a bachelors degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed relevant by the employer.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and ability to travel for work purposes.
