About the role

This is an active outdoor position in lawn and garden maintenance. You'll spend much of the day walking, standing, bending, lifting and operating machinery. The role involves working across premium residential properties, commercial sites, large grounds and specialist projects.

Some days involve completing a recurring maintenance route, others may be spent renovating a lawn, restoring an overgrown property or working on a major commercial site. You'll finish most days with a explicit and visible result from your work. Townsville's heat and humidity are part of the working environment.

You'll generally work as part of a small team while learning the role. As your skills develop, you may begin completing jobs independently and taking responsibility for your own recurring maintenance run.

Key responsibilities

- Commercial and residential lawn mowing
- Edging and line trimming
- Hedge, shrub and garden maintenance
- Weed identification and management
- Fertiliser and lawn-treatment applications
- Commercial grounds maintenance
- Lawn scalping and height reductions
- Dethatching and turf renovations
- Top dressing and minor surface correction
- Irrigation inspections and minor repairs

About you

- A current driver's licence
- Reliable transport to and from work
- Full Australian working rights
- The ability and willingness to tow and reverse a trailer
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The physical capacity to perform outdoor work
