About the role

TR!PL3 Fire Electrical & Refrigeration is looking for an experienced Lead Refrigeration Mechanic to join the team in Alice Springs. You'll work across a broad range of commercial refrigeration and HVAC service, maintenance, installation and project works. You'll still be hands-on and on the tools, but you'll also be trusted to run jobs, support the crew, guide apprentices, solve the harder faults and help make sure work is delivered properly from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

- Leading and supporting refrigeration mechanics and apprentices
- Running service, installation and project jobs on site
- Carrying out complex fault finding and diagnostics
- Servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
- Installing and commissioning split, ducted, cassette, VRV/VRF and commercial HVAC systems
- Working on cool rooms, freezer rooms and commercial refrigeration equipment
- Reviewing drawings, wiring diagrams and technical information
- Coordinating labour, materials, parts and equipment required for jobs
- Liaising with supervisors, clients, builders and other trades




- Checking workmanship and helping maintain a high standard across the team

About you

- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade qualification
- Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
- Robust experience across commercial refrigeration and HVAC
- Excellent refrigeration, electrical and controls fault-finding skills
- Previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring other tradespeople
- Experience with VRV/VRF, split, ducted and commercial air-conditioning systems
- Experience with commercial refrigeration systems
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
