Position Summary The Learning & Development Specialist plays a key role in building capability across PWG by designing, developing and coordinating high-quality learning experiences that support employee performance, career development and business growth.
This role is responsible for the development and management of PWG Academy, capability frameworks and learning pathways across the business, with a particular focus on PWG Academy, Project Haven and leadership capability development for existing people managers. The role combines instructional design, curriculum development, workshop facilitation, learning technology management and capability reporting to create scalable learning solutions that reduce reliance on Wealth subject matter experts and improve the consistency, quality and accessibility of training across all business units.
Success in this role will be measured through the development and adoption of learning pathways, quality learning content, capability uplift across the business and effective digital administration, reporting and evaluation of learning programs.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Learning Management System Operation (PWG Academy)
- Support the development and ongoing coordination of PWG Academy,
including structured learning and capability pathways across all business units.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day administration of PWG Academy
- Build digital content, manage enrolments and learning records, and maintain data integrity for reporting and compliance.
- Monitor utilisation, completion and learner outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
Capability Frameworks & Competency Mapping
- Support competency mapping and define capability expectations for key roles and career pathways.
- Maintain capability frameworks and learning matrices.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts and/or leaders to identify capability gaps and development priorities.
Learning Design & Facilitation
- Design and deliver internal workshops, training programs, in person and virtually.
- Support the design and delivery of development programs for existing people managers and emerging leaders, which strengthen the leadership capability across that cohort.
- Develop facilitator guides, participant materials and eLearning modules using current and new learning technology.
- Evaluate feedback and continuously improve learning solutions, including manager and leadership capability programs.
Advisor Capability (Project Haven)
- Develop and maintain core training materials for the Project Haven capability uplift including monthly workshops
- Translate technical knowledge into practical, consistent learning materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning gaps and keep content current.
Learning Operations, Reporting & Knowledge Capture
- Coordinate workshop logistics, schedules and communications.
- Maintain dashboards and capability metrics, and manage evaluation surveys to support continuous improvement.
- Reduce dependency on Wealth Subject Matter Experts by converting technical knowledge into reusable, scalable learning assets.
Team Culture & Development
- Provide support across People & Culture activities and projects as required within scope.
- Contribute ideas and improvements to enhance,
streamline and scale learning and development systems and processes.
- Contribute positively to PWG’s culture and Core Values
Education Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Education, Organisational Development, Psychology, Business or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, learning design qualification or adult learning certification (desirable)
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Training, Human Resources or a related field.
- Development of learning content, guides, presentations and training materials.
- Coordination and delivery of training programs, workshops and learning initiatives.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.
- Understanding of capability frameworks, competency mapping and leadership capability initiatives
- Exposure to professional services, financial services, Wealth Management banking, investments or education environments (highly desirable)
