Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary Civil Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Public Law – DCJ Legal
- Principal location – Parramatta - Flexible working arrangements maybe negotiated.
- Employment type – Temporary (up to 12 months) – Full time (35 hours)
- Clerk Grade 1/2, Base Salary ($78,000 - $84,799), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role We are seeking a Legal Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to solicitors and legal staff within our Civil Litigation & Dispute Resolution, legal team. Your ability to stay highly organised, collaborate, problem solve and manage simultaneous issues is vital to the success of the role. What You’ll Do As part of the team, you will provide administrative and secretarial services to internal and external clients to support the delivery of quality services for Civil Litigation portfolio of work.
Your contribution to the work done by the team includes:
- Assist with processing legal matters by creating files, data entry, drafting documents/ correspondence and undertaking records searches.
- Comply with recordkeeping business rules in creating and filing records
- Update records and databases, complying with records management processes, to ensure information is accurate, stored correctly, and accessible
- Collect and compile information to support the development of documentation and reports
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries from staff and clients and provide a timely and effective information and referral service.
- Assist with arranging meetings and recording minutes and actions as required
- Assist the team/unit to coordinate activities that support the implementation of team projects.
What We’re Looking For Experience in providing high-level administrative, clerical support, excellent client service and experience with Microsoft applications. Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
