Clario is seeking an experienced Melbourne-based Commercial Legal Counsel with 3+ years’ PQE for a 6-month contract with an Australian-based legal technology platform.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will work across consumer legal matters, relating to marketing and advertising review, trade promotions, influencer agreements, competitions and lottery T&C;'s and regulatory compliance.

This is a excellent opportunity for a commercial lawyer looking to broaden their in-house experience within an innovative, technology-led business.

The Role

Working with Clario, you will be seconded into the legal team of an Australian-based legal technology platform.

You will work closely with the Head of Legal and internal stakeholders and clients on a range of consumer legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Review a broad range of marketing and advertising products, campaigns and promotions.
- Provide practical legal advice across marketing, advertising, consumer law and trade promotions.
- Work with clients to provide legal advice relating to marketing and promotional materials and advise on relevant legal and compliance requirements.
- Support the business and their clients on identifying and managing legal and commercial risk.
- Assist with general regulatory and compliance matters.
- Stay across relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.

About You

- An Australian-qualified lawyer with at least 3 years’ PQE.
- Strong commercial legal experience gained within a reputable law firm,



in-house legal team or a combination of both.
- Confident drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience advising across areas such as marketing, advertising, intellectual property, technology, privacy or general commercial law.
- Previous experience working within a technology, SaaS or legal technology environment will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear and commercially focused legal advice.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a varied workload.
- Detail-oriented, pragmatic and solutions-focused.
- A proactive and positive approach to working with legal and business stakeholders.
