In our Brandlab Division we are recruiting for a Licensing Manager

Licensing Manager

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Licensing Manager to join our team and play a key role in growing our licensed brand portfolio.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in licensing, sales, account management or business development, who understands how to identify commercial opportunities, build robust relationships and turn licensed properties into successful retail programs.

You will work closely with our Sales, Product Development and Design teams, as well as licensing agents and brand owners, to manage both our existing portfolio and identify the next opportunities for the business.

The Role

As Licensing Manager, you will be responsible for the development, management and growth of our licensing portfolio from initial opportunity through to contract negotiation, product development, retail execution and ongoing brand management.

Key responsibilities will include

- Identifying and researching new licensing and brand opportunities relevant to our business, customers and product categories.
- Developing relationships with licensing agents, licensors, brand owners and other industry partners.
- Leading license negotiations, including commercial terms, categories, territories, minimum guarantees, royalties and contract renewals.
- Preparing compelling pitch presentations, business cases and licensing proposals for both licensors and internal stakeholders.

- Working closely with the Sales team to understand retailer demand, identify opportunities and develop commercial strategies for individual properties.
- Working collaboratively with Product Development and Design teams to translate licensing opportunities into strong, commercially relevant product ranges.
- Developing sales forecasts and financial projections for new and existing licenses.
- Monitoring license performance, minimum guarantees, royalty commitments and commercial targets.
- Managing the licensing approval process across product, packaging, marketing and other relevant materials.
- Acting as the key day-to-day contact for licensing agents and licensors.
- Ensuring contractual obligations, brand guidelines and approval requirements are understood and met across the business.
- Managing license renewals and identifying opportunities to expand existing agreements into additional categories, customers or territories.
- Staying across market trends, emerging brands, entertainment properties, sporting brands and cultural trends to identify future growth opportunities.

About You To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in licensing, sales, business development, account management or a related commercial role.
- Previous licensing industry experience is highly regarded.

- Strong commercial acumen and confidence negotiating contracts and financial terms.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to put together persuasive, commercially focused pitch documents.
- Experience with forecasting, budgeting and working towards revenue targets.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple brands, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Confidence working across different departments and bringing Sales, Design, Product and external partners together.
- A proactive mindset — someone who actively looks for opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to the business.
- An understanding of retail, consumer products, fashion, apparel or FMCG would be highly advantageous.

What We're Looking For More than anything, we are looking for someone who is commercial, proactive and genuinely excited by brands.

You will need to be equally comfortable sitting across the table negotiating a new licensing agreement, presenting an chance internally, working through forecasts with the Sales team, reviewing product with Design and Product Development, or discussing approvals and strategy with a licensing agent.

This is an opportunity to have a real influence on the future direction of our licensing portfolio — identifying the brands we should be working with, building the relationships that secure them and helping turn those opportunities into successful retail programs.
