We are currently looking for experienced Librarians to join the City of Sydney Library network on a casual basis, with opportunities to work across 9 library branches throughout the City of Sydney.

About the role

As a Casual Librarian, you will provide professional library and information services while delivering a high level of service to the community.

Your responsibilities may include

- Providing professional reference, research and information services
- Assisting customers to access library collections, online resources and digital services
- Responding to more complex customer and information enquiries
- Supporting customers with technology, digital literacy and library systems
- Assisting with collection services and maintaining accessible, well-organised resources
- Supporting library programs, activities and community initiatives
- Providing high-quality customer service to a diverse community
- Working across City of Sydney library branches depending on operational requirements

About you To be considered, you'll ideally have:




- A recognised qualification in Library and Information Science or a related discipline
- Previous experience working as a Librarian, ideally within a public library environment
- Strong research, reference and information service skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Confidence working with library systems, databases and digital resources
- The ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Flexibility to work across the City of Sydney's 9 library branches
- Availability for casual shifts, which may include evenings and weekends
