The Village on Blain (TVOB) is a premier accommodation village centrally located in the heart of Blackwater, providing 720 high-quality rooms, and hospitality services to professionals, contractors, and mining industry personnel. Renowned for its exceptional standards of service, comfortable facilities, and welcoming environment, TVOB has established itself as the accommodation provider of choice within the region.

As our long-standing Village Manager prepares to transition from the business over the next 6-12 months, we are seeking an accomplished and driven leader to continue building on this success. This represents a unique opportunity for an experienced hospitality and operations professional to take the reins of a well-established operation, lead a team of 50+ committed staff members, and further enhance our reputation for delivering outstanding guest experiences and operational excellence.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall operational, financial, commercial and people leadership of the village, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service while maintaining a safe, efficient and profitable operation.

As the senior onsite leader, you will oversee all aspects of village operations, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, reception, maintenance and grounds. You will play a pivotal role in driving operational performance, fostering a positive workplace culture and strengthening relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Working closely with the Pantex Group's Shared Services team in our Brisbane headquarters,



you will ensure strategic and operational objectives are achieved while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and growth.

Key responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of village operations, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, reception, maintenance and grounds

Drive operational performance and foster a positive workplace culture

Strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders

Ensure delivery of exceptional service while maintaining a safe, efficient and profitable operation

Manage budgets and operational performance

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and growth

Lead and develop a committed and experienced workforce

About you

Extensive management experience in a similar setting, potentially underpinned by a degree or recognised qualification in Hospitality Management, Tourism or a related field

Demonstrated success in accommodation villages, hotels, resorts or large‑scale hospitality operations

Strong leadership experience in a senior operational role such as Village Manager, Duty Manager, Operations Manager or similar

Extensive experience managing accommodation, reception, reservations and housekeeping functions





Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance

Experience using property management, reservations and operational systems

Well‑developed technology skills and a passion for leveraging systems and automation to improve outcomes

A strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety obligations and best practice

Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills

High levels of initiative, integrity and professionalism

The ability to lead through change and inspire teams to achieve results.

Experience in and/or robust interest in digital transformation will be highly regarded

Roster

The successful candidate will initially work on an agreed transition roster before moving to a standard 12 days on / 9 days off roster in conjunction with the Assistant Manager. Permanent accommodation onsite would be available should the successful candidate prefer to relocate to Blackwater.
