About the role

JHW Paterson & Son is looking for a Livestock Farm Hand to join the team and assist with the day-to-day management of cattle and general farm operations across the Iramoo Aggregation. Located between Darlington and Camperdown, Victoria, the Iramoo Aggregation run an Angus herd used for breeding Wagyu progeny and backgrounding for the Hells Gate Feedlot in Southern NSW. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with cattle and being part of a progressive family farming business.

Key responsibilities

- Daily care, monitoring and handling of cattle
- Mustering, drafting, yard work, weighing, tagging and treatments
- Vaccinations, castration, calving and general animal husbandry
- Moving cattle between paddocks, properties, yards and feedlots
- Assisting with cattle receivals and dispatches
- Feeding, watering and monitoring livestock
- Fencing, water, yards, gates and general property maintenance
- Operating farm machinery, vehicles and equipment
- Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and safety




- Completing livestock records and reporting any animal health or property issues

About you

- Has experience working with cattle or a strong interest in livestock
- Is reliable, hardworking and takes pride in their work
- Has good animal handling skills and a strong focus on animal welfare
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is willing to learn and take on new skills
- Holds a current driver's licence
- Previous station or livestock experience is highly regarded
