The Role The APS 3 Logistics Inventory Officer is an integral member of the Inventory cell at Joint Logistics Unit - South. You will work within an integrated team of Australian Public Service (APS) and Australian Defence Force (ADF) members to support and assist with the following functions:
- Update inventory management systems and ensure accurate and timely stock location records.
- Acquire knowledge of current Defence inventory policies, processes and procedures as they apply to straightforward inventory and asset management activities.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Communicate effectively with other areas regarding transportation and delivery updates.
- Assess basic inventory issues and refer complex matters appropriately.
About our Team
Joint Logistics Unit - South is an integrated workforce providing varying levels of Warehousing, Distribution and Maintenance logistical services to Defence in South Australia.
Under Logistics Operations
Branch, our joint team of Military, Commonwealth and Industry Partner Contractors deliver support from multiple sites at Edinburgh and our extended regional areas.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate may have experience within a supply chain management environment with some exposure to integrated logistics systems.
- Experience in a similar role, particularly logistics, warehousing, inventory and supply chain management.
- Experience in supporting delivery service contracts that require collaboration and relationship management to achieve outcomes.
- Experience with integrated logistics support systems or enterprise resource planning systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- They will be an effective member of a larger team and contributes to a team-oriented and supportive workplace culture.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
