About the role
We are seeking a full-time permanent leader who can enrich our national curriculum through meaningful, engaging activities that are culturally informed and capable. As member of the Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Programs team the resources produced in this role aim to build understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, worldviews and cultures.
An cutting-edge learning designer you will be instrumental in uplifting the application of contemporary learning and development practices into our programs. Your ability to write and produce digital and print learning content while meeting quality standards is key.
This role will also lead, manage and actively deliver a portfolio of work that embeds reconciliation and cultural capability across the organisation. Guiding the development and implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan and cultural capability initiatives.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Manage and undertake the development, implementation,
monitoring and continuous improvement of MHFAI’S RAP.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, community stakeholders and sector partners to strengthen reconciliation outcomes.
- Manage and undertake the development of an implementation plan and ongoing review of our Cultural Respect Framework.
- Apply and embed culturally safe learning design principles and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogies in the development and review of relevant Instructor, Trainer and staff learning programs.
About you
With a demonstrated commitment to lived experience in service design and delivery you will:
- Be of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander decsent. MHFAI considers being Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s 42 of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT)/s 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)/ sub-35(1)(b)(ii) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1996 (NT), s 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD)/ sub-s 56(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act (SA)/s 41 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas)/ sub-s 26(3) or s 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic)/s 50 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
- Possess substantial experience leading and managing reconciliation, cultural capability and curriculum development.
- Strong skills in curriculum and learning design, including personally developing, writing, reviewing and maintaining culturally informed curriculum, learning content and resources,
together with experience leading or managing curriculum development activities.
- Be a skilled in project management.
- Have the ability to build, influence and sustain collaborative relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations, internal stakeholders, senior leaders, Subject Matter Experts, consultants and other external partners.
