About the role The Manager Medical Services plays a key leadership role in supporting the delivery of high-quality medical workforce services across the Hospital. Working in close partnership with the Director Medical Services (DMS) and Deputy Director Medical Services (DDMS), the role is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the education, training, supervision, and professional development of Junior Medical Officers (JMOs), ensuring compliance with accreditation and workforce requirements.

This position provides strong and effective leadership to the Medical Services Administration Team while contributing to the broader Medical Services function.

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, rostering, workforce management, and ongoing support of Junior Medical Officers (JMOs).
- Coordinate and oversee JMO education, training, accreditation, supervision, and career development programs.
- Manage Medical Services operations, budgets, staffing resources, and performance improvement initiatives to achieve organisational objectives.
- Foster strong relationships with clinicians, executives, training organisations, universities, and external stakeholders to support medical workforce outcomes.
- Oversee specialist credentialing, scope of practice governance,



and medical practitioner compliance requirements.
- Drive clinical governance, accreditation, quality, risk, workplace safety, and continuous improvement activities across Medical Services.
- Lead and develop the Medical Services Administration Team, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
- Contribute to strategic projects, service development initiatives, and innovation opportunities that enhance medical workforce effectiveness and patient experience.

Your skills and experience To be successful in this role, you will bring significant experience in a medical workforce, medical services, or healthcare administration environment, with a robust understanding of junior medical officer training, accreditation, and registration requirements. You will have demonstrated success providing high-level administrative and operational support to senior stakeholders within a complex healthcare setting, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships and engage confidently with executives, clinicians, caregivers, external agencies, and other key stakeholders.

Highly organised and solutions-focused, you will have strong computer and database management skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands. You will be recognised for your initiative, problem-solving capability, flexibility, and ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

We can offer you

- Salary: $107,200 to $119,100, plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent Full-Time position, working 38 hours a week.
