About the Role As an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Nurse (EMCHN) at Mornington Peninsula Shire you will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing additional supports to eligible families as an extension of the Universal Maternal and Child Health Service.
The Enhanced Maternal and Child Health program offers a flexible response for families who are experiencing a period of increased need and would benefit from targeted actions and interventions.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Maternal and Child Health Nurse to grow their skill set in a multidisciplinary setting, with access to excellent people and resources. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who has an interest working alongside families in their home.
Reporting to the Coordinator Enhanced Maternal and Child Health program, the core responsibilities include:
- Strengthening family functioning by providing in-home support for families experiencing vulnerabilities
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality family support service which focuses on early intervention, family strengthening initiatives and community connectedness
- Participate in a coordinated team approach including collaborative partnerships with external agencies to provide an effective and accountable Child and Family Health Service for families.
- Deliver service in line with the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program State Guidelines (2025) and the Mornington Peninsula Enhanced Maternal and Child Health program
About You
- Have a positive, professional and enthusiastic attitude working within a team
- Hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as both a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and Midwife, with a Post Graduate Diploma/Masters degree in Child and Family Health Nursing.
- Demonstrated experience as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse (minimum 2 years). Experience delivering services within the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health program, is desirable.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check and have Working with Children Check.
