Good gear. Plenty of work. Two seats to fill. Tait Freight is looking for two experienced MC drivers to join our team.

We’ve got the trucks.

We’ve got the freight.

Now we’re looking for two good operators who want steady work, take pride in their gear and are looking for somewhere they can actually settle in and get on with the job.

The Work

There’s plenty of variety. Depending on the job and the season, you could be hauling:

- Grain Urea and Fertiliser
- Cotton
- Hay
- Machinery
- Project freight & Oversize
- Dangerous Goods
- Citrus and seasonal produce
- Side Tipper Projects
- Bulk Water Cartage

The work is a mix of regional and long-distance transport across Queensland, NSW and WA There will be early starts, there will be nights away, there will be weekends when the work requires it.

And there will probably be days where the plan changes before you’ve finished your first coffee, that’s transport.

If you’ve been in the industry for a while, none of that will surprise you.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not looking for someone who just wants another job. We’re looking for drivers who want to become part of the team and stick around.

You’ll fit in well here if you:

✔ Communicate well with operations

✔ Take pride in your truck and equipment

✔ Understand your responsibilities as a qualified heavy vehicle driver

✔ Can work independently without needing to be chased

✔ Are happy to work away when required

✔ Have a good attitude and can have a laugh

✔ Want steady work with a company that keeps the wheels turning

You don’t need to know every part of our operation on day one.





If you’ve got solid MC experience, the right attitude and are willing to learn, we can teach you the rest.

Before anyone starts the rumour mill no, we haven’t “lost” two drivers, life has simply taken them interstate for a while.

We’ve said “see ya for now”, not goodbye and if QLD, the sunny state, calls them home again, there’ll always be a conversation to be had.

What We Offer

• Two full-time MC positions

- Paid under the Road Transport (Long Distance Operations) Award – Level 9 [MA000039]
- Earning potential up to $150,000 + super, depending on the work undertaken
- Super paid weekly

- Six-month probation period

We know experienced drivers have options.

So we’re not going to sell you a dream and then give you something completely different once you start.

Transport can be demanding, but if you want the work, we have it.

What You’ll Need

• Current MC licence

- Good traffic history
- Previous heavy vehicle driving experience
- Good communication skills
- Reliable work history
- A solid understanding of fatigue, mass and general heavy vehicle compliance requirements




- Willingness to work away when required
- End tipper and/or cotton experience is an advantage, but not essential
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

• Non-smoker preferred — our trucks are smoke-free

A Word About the Trucks

We take pride in our equipment and expect our drivers to do the same. You don’t need to spend your Sunday polishing chrome with a toothbrush...

But if your entire truck-washing strategy is “it looks like rain tomorrow”, we might have a problem.

Look after the gear, report faults properly and treat the truck like the tool that earns your living.

Pretty simple.

Before You Apply

Have a proper read of the ad first. We’re looking for people who genuinely want the job not someone firing off applications to every transport company between Toowoomba and Townsville and then wondering who’s calling them the next morning.
