We are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established Perth engineering business. This is a workshop-based role offering Monday to Friday dayshift, no FIFO and plenty of variety. You'll work on custom-built truck bodies and heavy equipment used across the mining, drilling and transport industries.

The Role Involves

- Fitting, assembling and installing custom truck bodies, including tilt trays, crane trucks and drill rigs
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
- Carrying out routine inspections, servicing and maintenance on mining support equipment
- Performing rebuilds, repairs and modifications to heavy vehicles and equipment
- Working closely with boilermakers, tradespeople and supervisors
- Commissioning, testing and completing final fit-out of bespoke equipment
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, quality and safety

About You We're Looking For Someone Who

- Holds an Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering – Mobile Plant Technology or Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical or Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
- Has experience within heavy industry, mining, drilling, transport, manufacturing or a similar environment
- Has robust mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills




- Can confidently read and interpret technical drawings
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Has a reliable, safety-focused and team-oriented approach
- Holds a current driver's licence and has reliable transport

- Fitting and assembly of truck bodies
- Drill rig repairs, rebuilds and assembly
- Tilt tray repairs, rebuilds and assembly
- Road transport mechanical work
- Mobile plant fitting or maintenance
- Hydraulic fault finding, repairs and maintenance
- Custom equipment builds and modifications
