We are currently seeking experienced Boilermaker Welders and Mechanical Fitters for upcoming shutdown works at Newmont Boddington and Roy Hill.
The shutdown period will run from 8th November to 19th November and from 10th November to 21st November, with multiple positions available for suitably qualified and experienced tradespeople. If you have proven mining or shutdown experience, take pride in your workmanship and are committed to working safely, we want to hear from you.
Boilermaker Welders You will be involved in a range of structural, fabrication and maintenance activities, including:
- Liner change-outs and installation
- Parent metal repairs
- Weld repairs
- Stitch welding of 50mm Chockie blocks to vertical surrounds
- Arc air gouging
- Rigging and positioning of liners
- Wearmaxing
- General shutdown fabrication and maintenance
Mechanical Fitters will be required to carry out a variety of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities, including:
- Chute replacements
- Ceramic and steel chute relining
- Liner change-outs
- Parent metal and weld repairs
- Rigging and installation of liners
- Wearmaxing
- EWP operation and spotting
- Pulley change-outs and alignments
- In office fabrication
- Hi-torqueing of bolts
- Regreasing and inspection of mechanical components
- General mechanical maintenance
What We're Looking for to be considered for these positions, you will have:
- Relevant Australian trade qualification
- Current C Class Driver's License
- Previous mining and/or shutdown experience
- Demonstrated experience in your trade
- Relevant tickets and competencies for the position
- A strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to work to shutdown deadlines and site requirements
