About the role

n

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Services team.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys technically strong accounting, working through complex issues and partnering with stakeholders across a large organisation.

n

You'll play a key role across month-end, financial reporting, reconciliations and accounting compliance, while also contributing to process improvement and broader finance initiatives.

n

This isn't simply a "tick the box" reporting role. The team is looking for someone who can understand the underlying numbers, identify issues, challenge the status quo and help improve how things are done.

Key responsibilities

n

- Manage month-end accounting and reporting activities across your portfolio
n
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
n
- Perform technical accounting analysis and provide advice on accounting treatments
n
- Support the preparation of financial reporting and statutory requirements
n
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and queries
n
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting
n




- Assist with finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Ensure accounting policies, controls and compliance requirements are consistently met
n
- Support the broader Accounting Services team during key reporting periods
n

About you

n

We're looking for a qualified CA/CPA accountant with robust technical accounting foundations and experience operating in a sizeable, complex organisation, ideally with a strong background in Retail.

n

You'll ideally bring:

n

- CA/CPA qualification
n
- Strong month-end and financial reporting experience
n
- Excellent understanding of balance sheet accounting and reconciliations
n
- Experience working with complex accounting environments
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- The confidence to investigate issues rather than simply elevate them
n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
n
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes
n
- Strong systems and Excel capability (SQL & SAP would be considered highly advantageous)
n

Experience within a large corporate, ASX-listed, retail, FMCG or similarly complex environment would be highly regarded.
