The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated administrative professional to join our Mental Health Service, providing specialist support across medico-legal and legal processes.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare while working within a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary setting.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and responding to medico-legal and release of information requests, including subpoenas, in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational requirements. You will liaise with clinicians, General Practitioners, Justice Health and other healthcare providers to facilitate the timely exchange of information that supports ongoing patient care. You will also provide administrative support for mental health legal processes, including the preparation and coordination of documentation for tribunal hearings.
This position requires exceptional organisational skills, sound judgement, a strong commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex healthcare setting. now to play a key role in supporting vital mental health services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant administrative support.

What you will bring to the role
- Previous administrative experience in a health or legal environment.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of legislation regarding release of health information and privacy, and an understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
- Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise and complete tasks to ensure daily objectives are met
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and proven interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently under limited direction as to work priorities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Completion of medical terminology course or willingness to complete.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite of applications and knowledge of computerised patient administration systems.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and clear decision-making ability.
