Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, grinders and other metalworking machinery.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and machining instructions.

- Select appropriate cutting tools, machine settings and machining methods for different materials and components.

- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.

- Perform turning, milling, drilling, boring, grinding and other machining operations as required.

- Produce machine components to specified dimensions, tolerances and quality standards.

- Carry out machine setup, tool changes and adjustments during production.

- Identify machining faults, defects and dimensional discrepancies and make appropriate adjustments.

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.

- Complete production records, job sheets and quality-control documentation where required.

- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, fabricators and other members of the workshop team.

- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately and within required production timeframes.

Skills and Experience The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Relevant trade qualification in Metal Machining, Fitting and Machining,



Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience working as a Metal Machinist, Machinist, Fitter Machinist or in a closely related role.

- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

- Sound knowledge of machining processes, tools, materials and equipment.

- Experience operating conventional and/or CNC machinery.

- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, gauges and measuring tools.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.

- Ability to identify and rectify machining and production issues.

- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Good time-management and organisational skills.

- Reliable, punctual and committed approach to work.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
