Microsoft 365 Engineer | AUD $1,100 per day | Australia (Fully Remote) | 5-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer to join a major enterprise migration programme. This role will focus on delivering complex Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and tenant consolidation projects.

Working as part of a dedicated project team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of migration activities, from discovery and planning through to cutover, hypercare, and post-migration support. You'll play a key role in ensuring seamless user transitions while maintaining business continuity and a positive end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess source and target Microsoft 365 environments and develop migration plans and runbooks.
- Deliver tenant-to-tenant migrations across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID, and Active Directory.
- Configure and manage migration tooling, including platforms such as AvePoint, Quest, BitTitan, or ShareGate.
- Support identity, domain, mailbox, collaboration, and endpoint migration activities.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune enrolment, device migration, and user onboarding.
- Monitor migration progress, troubleshoot issues, and support cutover activities.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, Service Desk teams, and client stakeholders.
- Provide migration reporting, documentation, and post-migration hypercare support.

Required Experience





- Proven experience delivering Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration projects.
- Strong expertise across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra Connect (Azure AD Connect) and hybrid identity environments.
- Good understanding of mail flow, SMTP routing, DNS, and domain migrations.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint migration projects.
- Robust PowerShell administration and automation skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Desirable Experience

- Microsoft 365 merger, acquisition, divestiture, or tenant consolidation projects.
- Enterprise-scale migration programmes involving multiple migration waves.
- Consulting, managed services, or professional services experience.
- Microsoft certifications including Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Identity & Access Administrator, Teams Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, or Azure Administrator.
