About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic NBN Cable Hauling Supervisor/Team Leader to join AJC Amison Johns Communications PTY LTD. This is a full-time position based in Lonsdale, SA 5160. As Supervisor/Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing cable hauling operations and leading a dedicated team to ensure the successful deployment of National Broadband Network (NBN) infrastructure.

This role is pivotal in maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols across all cable installation activities. You will play a crucial role in the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure whilst ensuring operational excellence and team performance.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate cable hauling teams on NBN installation projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to specification
- Plan and allocate resources efficiently, including equipment, materials and personnel for daily operations
- Conduct safety briefings and enforce health and safety protocols across all work sites
- Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements
- Communicate regularly with project managers and stakeholders to provide progress updates and address any issues
- Train and mentor team members, providing guidance on technical procedures and best practices
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, including timesheets, equipment logs and incident reports
- Identify and resolve operational challenges and implement corrective actions as needed
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness
- Manage inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and replacement as required





What we're looking for

- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within telecommunications, NBN, or similar infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of cable hauling techniques, fibre optic installation and associated safety protocols
- Excellent health and safety knowledge with demonstrated commitment to maintaining workplace safety standards
- Experience with project planning and resource management in quick-paced environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with team members, managers and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to motivate, train and develop team members
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, plans and specifications
- Experience with relevant software systems and reporting tools
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to multiple work sites
- Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Relevant certifications such as White Card (Construction Induction), First Aid or electrical safety qualifications are highly desirable
