Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cranbourne, VIC, responsible for overseeing daily operations across crane, rigging, and machinery projects. This role coordinates scheduling of equipment and crews, ensures jobs are planned and executed safely, and monitors compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
The Operations
Manager will manage resource allocation, support project logistics, and collaborate with clients to confirm job requirements and timelines. Day-to-day tasks include supervising field teams, reviewing job documentation, optimizing workflows,
and resolving operational issues to maintain high service quality. The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement, supporting staff training, and working closely with leadership to meet business and customer objectives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in operations management, preferably within crane, rigging, construction, or machinery services.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and project coordination.
- Knowledge of safety standards, risk management, and regulatory requirements relevant to lifting and rigging operations.
- Effective leadership skills, with experience supervising teams and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Transparent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work on-site, handle multiple jobs simultaneously, and adapt to changing project demands.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and operational reporting tools.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in crane, rigging, construction, or OH&S; are highly regarded.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to attend job sites and yard locations as needed.
