About the role
Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) is seeking an organised, proactive and people-focused Operations Support Officer to join our team in a full time capacity.
The DPNA Operations Support Officer provides operational and administrative support across DPNA's competitions, representative and development programs, umpiring and general Association operations.
The position has primary responsibility for the operational delivery of DPNA game days, competitions and events, including Winter and Summer fixtures, carnivals, grading days and other Association events. You will be the primary onsite contact during fixtures, supervising Fixtures Assistants and coordinating with game day staff, officials and volunteers to ensure competitions run smoothly.
Outside of competition days, the position will provide administrative and operational support across the Association, including representative and development programs, umpiring, general office and broader Association administration.
The role requires flexibility in working days and hours throughout the year, including regular weekend and evening work during competition seasons, as outlined in the Position Description.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the effective delivery of DPNA Winter and Summer competition game days and nights
- Act as the primary onsite contact during fixtures, carnivals, grading days and other events
- Roster and supervise Fixtures Assistants and coordinate with game day staff, officials and volunteers
- Manage and respond to game day enquiries, issues, incidents, injuries and complaints in accordance with DPNA policies and procedures
- Coordinate the administrative requirements of rep and development programs, including selections, trials, appointments, registrations and nominations
- Maintain program documentation, records, databases and calendars
- Manage communications with Rep and Development players, parents, coaches, managers, officials and other stakeholders
- Assist with the allocation and appointment of umpires to competitions and support the administration associated with umpire development and pathways
- Act as an initial point of contact for DPNA enquiries received by email, telephone and in person
- Assist with the planning and administrative coordination of DPNA carnivals, grading days, rep and development events and other Association activities
About you We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident working in a busy community sporting environment. You will have:
- Previous experience in administration, sports administration, competition coordination or a similar operational role
- Demonstrated knowledge of netball, including an understanding of competition requirements, representative netball, umpiring and development pathways
- Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and make sound decisions in a busy operational environment
- Ability to coordinate people and activities,
work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and stakeholders and build positive relationships
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, complaints and difficult situations professionally and sensitively
- Strong computer, record-keeping and administrative skills, including the ability to handle confidential information
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or eligibility to obtain and maintain one
About us Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) was established in 1974 and is based in Northey Street, Windsor, Brisbane. Proudly hosting 19 affiliated clubs, DPNA is recognised as the largest netball association in Queensland. The 2026 DPNA Winter Fixture has approximately 4,750 players registered in 486 teams playing across 65 divisions within 8 age groups from 7/8/9yrs through to Opens.
In 2026, DPNA has 33 Representative teams participating in Netball Queensland State Age competitions, the Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL), Qld Men's and Mixed M-League and regional competitions and carnivals.
