Overnight Kitchen Hand – High-Volume Production Kitchen

Work while the city sleeps and be part of a team that keeps thousands of meals moving! Kids Gourmet Food (KGF) is a high-volume catering company providing freshly prepared meals to the childcare sector across NSW, QLD, VIC and ACT.

Our production kitchen is based in Brookvale, Sydney’s Northern Beaches (2100), and we are looking for a reliable and experienced Overnight Kitchen Hand to join our busy production team.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced production kitchen role suited to someone who understands the demands of commercial food production and is comfortable working overnight.

About the Role

As an Overnight Kitchen Hand, you will play an significant role in keeping our production operation running smoothly through the night.

Your responsibilities will include

- Food preparation, batching and production
- Packing and unpacking food products
- Preparing, packing and chilling finished products
- Following recipes and production processes accurately
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workstations
- Ensuring consistent product quality
- Following our Food Safety Program and HACCP standards
- Supporting the Kitchen Manager and production team with general kitchen duties

This is a hands-on and physically demanding role

We want to be clear about what the role involves. This is not a light-duty kitchen position. You will be on your feet for most of the shift and regularly performing physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing and moving food products, boxes, equipment and supplies.

You must be comfortable regularly lifting up to 25kg and working safely in a physically demanding production environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and understands what it takes to work in a busy production kitchen. To be successful, you will have:





- Full-time working rights without restrictions (no student visa applicants)
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand, Production Kitchen Assistant or similar role — production/commercial kitchen experience is highly regarded
- Previous experience working overnight shifts
- Good communication skills
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- The ability to regularly lift up to 25kg
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to support others
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow processes consistently

Role Details

- Casual position – must be available to work all 5 nights
- Sunday to Thursday nights / Friday morning
- 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- 30-minute unpaid break
- Immediate start available
- Casual pay rate: $48.24 per hour
