Thrive and Grow OT is a mobile paediatric occupational therapy service supporting children and families within their everyday environments. Sessions are predominantly completed within schools, preschools/daycares and family homes across the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas, with telehealth sessions also provided where appropriate. This is a casual position initially for 1–2 days per week, with the potential to increase over time.
The position would suit a current graduate (Level 1) or early-career Occupational Therapist (Level 2) who is looking for a flexible role with support and the opportunity to develop their paediatric clinical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Providing individual occupational therapy sessions to children and adolescents with a range of developmental needs
- Delivering therapy within schools, preschools/daycares and homes
- Providing telehealth occupational therapy sessions as required
- Developing engaging, functional and child-centred therapy sessions
- Presenting education sessions to parents, educators, teachers and other professionals as required
- Conducting daycare and school-based screeners as required
- Completing clinical documentation and progress notes
- Communicating and collaborating with parents, teachers, educators and other health professionals
- Supporting children and adolescents in areas including fine and gross motor development, handwriting, self-care, emotional regulation, sensory processing, attention and participation
About you
- AHPRA registered as an Occupational Therapist
- Level 1 or Level 2 Occupational Therapist
- Strong interest in working with children and families
- Friendly, reliable and able to build positive relationships with children
- Organised and able to manage a mobile caseload
- Confident working independently while also being comfortable seeking support and guidance
- Committed to providing practical, family-centred and evidence-informed therapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Own reliable vehicle and ability to travel between appointments
- Appropriate vehicle insurance for work-related travel
- Current Working With Children Check
- Australian working rights
