Role Description This is a full-time, in office Painter and Decorator role based in Yokine, WA. The Painter and Decorator will prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming, and then apply paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings to interiors and exteriors.
Daily tasks include reading plans and specifications, selecting appropriate materials and tools, mixing and matching colors, and applying finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, protecting surrounding surfaces, and ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
The Painter and Decorator will interact with clients and team members professionally, providing updates on progress and supporting other site activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Paint handling and general Painting, including surface preparation and finish application.
- Proficiency in Painting and Decorating, including color matching, detailing, and working to design specifications.
- Experience with Coatings, including protective and specialty finishes for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Capability in Spray Painting, with safe and effective use of spray equipment and techniques.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in painting and decorating, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and ability to follow safety procedures on-site.
- Good time management, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver’s license and reliable transport to Yokine and surrounding job sites.
- Previous experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting environments is highly regarded.
