As a Parks Worker (Botanic Gardens), you'll support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Noosa Botanic Gardens through a range of practical horticultural and landscaping activities. - $83,295 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You

You are a reliable team player with experience in horticulture, landscaping and/or arboriculture who enjoys working outdoors. With practical plant care knowledge, strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, you take pride in maintaining high-quality parks and gardens for the community to enjoy.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver horticultural, landscaping and grounds maintenance activities to support the presentation and health of the Noosa Botanic Gardens and associated facilities
- Monitor and maintain plant collections, identifying and reporting pest, disease or maintenance issues to ensure a high standard of garden care
- Safely operate and maintain a range of horticultural equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws and other plant machinery




- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by completing required documentation, supporting trainees and volunteers, and assisting with emergency response activities when required

Essential Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated experience in horticulture, landscaping, arboriculture or a similar outdoor maintenance role
- Sound knowledge of plant identification, care and maintenance, with the ability to recognise and report plant health issues
- Experience operating a range of horticultural equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws and other machinery.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to achieving shared goals and outcomes
- Solid communication, problem-solving and observational skills, with the ability to follow work programs and instructions
- A commitment to workplace health and safety, coupled with the physical fitness required to perform manual outdoor work in varying conditions

Qualifications, Training and Licences

Essential:

- Certificate II in Horticulture or equivalent industry experience.
- Current C Class Driver Licence
- Construction Industry White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- AC/DC Commercial Operator's Licence (unrestricted class), or willingness to obtain

Desirable:

- Light Rigid (LR) or Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence
- Additional training or certifications relevant to horticulture, landscaping or arboriculture
