About The Role
As a Pathology Collector, you will collect blood and non-blood samples across a range of settings while delivering a positive, professional and caring experience to every patient. In this position, you will be rostered across hospitals, patient collection centres and home visits, responding to varying patient needs and changing clinical priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Collect blood and other pathology specimens with care,
accuracy and attention to detail across hospitals, patient collection centres, aged care facilities and patient homes.
- Build strong relationships with patients, carers and healthcare professionals while delivering a positive patient experience.
- Prioritise collections and respond efficiently to changing clinical requirements.
- Travel between locations to complete scheduled and on-demand collections.
- Prepare and package specimens for transport in accordance with procedures and turnaround requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with required processes.
- Follow all quality, safety and compliance requirements and support smooth day-to-day operations.
About You For this position, we are seeking an experienced Pathology Collector who is reliable, adaptable and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications And Experience
- Certificate III in Pathology Collection is essential
- Previous experience in pathology collection, ideally across hospital, collection centre or community environments
- Healthcare experience in nursing, aged care, disability support or a related field will also be considered
Requirements
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability and willingness to travel between multiple locations
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement
- Ability to provide evidence of immunisation requirements, including Hepatitis B
- Reside within 25km of Lingard Hospital or Hunter Valley Private Hospital
