About the role The Personal Care Worker (PCW) will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a safe, clean environment and the delivery of total quality care for CHSP Clients, Dawson View Hostel residents and Home Care Package clients.

Key responsibilities

- Assist residents and clients with activities of daily living and where safe to do so encouraging independence with showering and toileting as required.

- Assist with dressing and undressing as required.

- Assist with transfers and general mobility within and outside the Hostel as required.

- Ensure individual care plans are followed for all residents and clients.

- Observe and appropriately report on the changing care requirements of residents and clients.

- Maintain written/electronic records including progress notes, observation charts, medication charts, kitchen registers and communication day book.

- Assist with preparation and distribution of meals, ensuring that they are of adequate variety, quality and quantity for each resident and client.

- Assist with the washing of personal laundry.





- Maintain a clean, comfortable, secure and home-like environment.

- Report any incidents and/or injuries and document action taken.

- Ability to communicate effectively with older people, their family, staff and other health professionals.

- Ability to work with clients with a range of different backgrounds.

- Ability to complete written notes and forms clearly and accurately.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development.

- Ability to be flexible, prioritise work, and display time management skills.

- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills relevant to the position and strongly focused on the provision of quality service.

- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team workplace.

- A caring and supportive attitude.

- Patience, discretion and a high level of professionalism.

- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a "C" Class Licence.
