Temporary Full-Time Contract to April 2027

Mackay Regional

Council is seeking a Planning and Maintenance Officer to join our Water Network team ASAP on a temporary contract through to April 2027.

This is an exciting prospect to support the planning and delivery of maintenance and renewal activities that keep essential water infrastructure operating effectively across the Mackay Region.

About The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Planner, you will provide timely and efficient planning, scheduling and administrative support to the Water Network team. You will play a key role in coordinatingmaintenance activities, managing work orders, supporting water meter programs and assisting with asset renewal planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Generating and coordinating corrective maintenance work orders.
- Assisting with planning, scheduling and reporting of maintenance and capital projects.
- Supporting water meter renewal and replacement programs.
- Maintaining asset and operational data within corporate systems.
- Preparing reports and regulatory information.
- Reviewing maintenance histories to support renewal planning.
- Providing administrative and logistical support to operational teams.
- Maintaining business documentation and records in accordance with Council requirements.

About You To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

- Experience in a similar administration,



planning or maintenance support role.
- Experience using corporate and administrative systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn specialised software systems.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Certificate III in Business Administration.(Desirable)
- Current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence (Desirable).
