Overview
ROLE PURPOSE The purpose of the Planning & Trading Executive role is to support the planning, implementation and delivery of media campaigns, ensuring activity is executed accurately, efficiently and aligned to client objectives. The Planning & Trading Executive is responsible for supporting campaign activation, media buying, financial administration, reporting and stakeholder management, while developing a strong understanding of the Australian media landscape.
The role works closely with Managers and the broader Planning & Trading team to deliver high-quality campaign outcomes and build strong relationships with media partners, clients and internal stakeholders.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING & TRADING
- Support the planning, management and execution of media campaigns across all relevant channels.
- Assist with day-to-day media trading and campaign delivery across the client portfolio.
- Support television buying, weekly tracking and reporting across reach, frequency, TARP, CPM and budget delivery.
- Assist with briefing media owners and publishers and managing campaign requirements.
- Monitor campaign delivery and proactively highlight issues, media developments and opportunities to the Manager.
- Ensure campaign activity is delivered in line with client objectives, investment strategies and agreed parameters.
- Assist with pre-, mid- and post-campaign reporting for clients.
- Support competitive market reporting and provide relevant insights to the broader team.
- Assist Managers with analysing media responses and developing cost-effective media recommendations.
- Maintain accurate financials, budget control, invoicing and campaign documentation.
- Complete buy documentation and maintain accurate trading records.
- Support new business pitches and ad hoc projects as required.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
- Build positive relationships with clients, media partners and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Planning,
Activation, Digital and Client teams to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively.
- Communicate with media owners and publishers regarding bookings, campaign changes and delivery requirements.
- Develop relationships with junior client contacts and media partners.
QUALITY CONTROL
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail across campaign implementation, financials and reporting.
- Ensure campaign documentation and systems are kept accurate and up to date.
- Take pride in all work delivered and maintain a high standard of presentation and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 12–18 months' experience within a media agency or related environment.
- Preferably a university degree or higher education qualification.
- Developing understanding of the Australian media landscape.
- Developing media buying and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of offline media channels, with digital media experience advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and campaigns simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

- Nielsen Digital / Answers
- Sizmek and/or DCM
- MOVE
- AQX Fusion
