Pool Lifeguard - Join the Swimmerz Academy Team

At Swimmerz Academy, we believe swimming is about more than learning a skill — it’s about Building Confidence for Life. We’re looking for a reliable, proactive and safety-focused Indoor Pool Lifeguard to join our friendly team and help create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for our swimmers, families and staff.

As a Lifeguard at Swimmerz, you’ll play an important role in keeping our aquatic environment safe while also being part of a supportive team that genuinely cares about our customers and each other.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Swimmerz team, your role will include:

- Vigilantly supervising swimmers and all activity in and around the pool.
- Maintaining a high level of safety awareness and proactively identifying potential hazards.
- Responding confidently and promptly to emergencies, including performing rescues and first aid when required.
- Enforcing pool rules and safety procedures in a friendly, professional and respectful manner.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming pool deck, bathroom and surrounding areas.
- Completing daily safety checklists, incident reports and water quality testing as required.
- Regularly inspecting the pool, equipment and surrounding areas and reporting any hazards, maintenance or safety concerns.
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service to swimmers, parents and visitors.
- Supporting our Learn to Swim teachers and wider team, including assisting with equipment in the pool.
- Operating the pool vacuum and assisting with pool and facility cleaning when required.
- Operating the wheelchair accessibility equipment and assisting patrons when required.
- Supporting the overall cleanliness, hygiene, safety, maintenance and security of the centre.
- Participating in regular in-service training, emergency drills and team development.

- Someone who takes pride in keeping their workplace clean, organised and welcoming.

Previous lifeguarding experience is valued but not essential — what matters most is having the right attitude, reliability and commitment to safety.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification (Royal Life Saving or equivalent).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Strong swimming ability and appropriate physical fitness.
- Ability to work weekends, afternoons/early evenings and school holiday periods as required.

Pay: $27.00 – $36.50 per hour
